MTC Opening Hours – Easter 2017

Please take note of the following College Easter opening hours. The College is closed for the upcoming bank holidays on Friday the 14th and Monday the 17th April. Unless we have heard otherwise, we assume lessons will continue as usual during the rest of the Easter holidays. If you have fewer, or extra lessons during the holidays you will be credited or debited on your next invoice.

We hope you have a fantastic Easter.

Easter Revision Courses

Fitting in some additional study over the holiday periods can be challenging but the benefits are substantial. A structured revision plan can lead to a marked improvement on expected grades or examination results and, consequently, the options you have in front of you. An Easter revision course can really make a difference!

We offer revision classes in the main subjects and classes cover the following elements:

  • areas of the syllabus where the student requires additional support
  • examination practice – past papers and specimen papers
  • revision guidance
  • encouragement
  • examination techniques
  • motivation
  • expert help

What’s Included?

A typical course involves 6 hours of one-to-one tuition in a single subject, which enables our courses to be tailor-made for each student.

Tutors will be chosen according to their ability to cater for the students’ individual requirements. Any particular problems can be dealt with in depth, giving students much greater confidence in their subject/s. We will always do our best to organise the timetable to suit individual needs.

Please see our Revision Courses page for further detail: MTC Revision Courses

National Apprenticeship Week 2017

It’s the 10th National Apprenticeship Week!

For many young people, an apprenticeship is an attractive alternative to going to university.

There are many reasons why you may choose to undertake an apprenticeship. For many, the fact that you can earn while you learn and gain financial independence is the key benefit. There are many other benefits though, such as learning in a way that is best suited to you through hands-on experience on the job, getting paid holidays, receiving training and gaining qualifications, learning job-specific skills, making valuable contacts, and impressing future employers.

What do you need in order to do an apprenticeship?

Employers might ask for two or more GCSE grades (A*-C) or equivalent. For some intermediate apprenticeships, however, you might not need any formal qualifications. If you don’t have GCSEs in English and Maths, though, you’ll usually be required to take a basic numeracy and literacy test.

National Apprenticeship Week runs from 6th to 10th March 2017.
